MR. GYAMFI ASSUMES OFFICE AS ACTING DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF NSA

Mr. Gyamfi Felix has officially taken over today as the acting Director-General of the National Service Authority (NSA) following a brief but significant ceremony held at the NSA headquarters in Accra.

The leadership transition marks a new chapter for the Authority, as stakeholders look forward to continuity and innovation in its operations.

Forward thinker

Speaking during his inaugural address, Mr. Gyamfi Felix praised his predecessor, describing him as a “forward thinker” and “deep thinker” who left an indelible mark on the Authority. He outlined his vision for the NSA, focusing on food production, partnerships, and operational efficiency.

“With growing food inflation and vast arable lands at our disposal, the NSA has an opportunity to address unemployment and food insecurity through increased agricultural production. By utilising our farms, we can reduce the reliance on food imports and create sustainable solutions for the nation,” he noted.

He further called on the Authority’s Directors to collaborate with him in driving transformative initiatives. "I cannot do this alone. I urge all Directors and stakeholders to support the vision for a more robust and effective NSA that serves the greater good of Ghana," he added.

Collaboration

Mr. Gyamfi also emphasised the importance of leveraging partnerships to propel the Authority’s development agenda. "Collaboration with key stakeholders remains a cornerstone of our strategy to ensure the NSA remains impactful and relevant in national development," he stressed.

Touching on the Authority’s catering services for optimum sales, the Acting Director-General unveiled plans to expand its operations. “We aim to transform the catering services into a 24-hour operation to maximise capacity and efficiency. This will enable the Authority to better meet the demands of its customers. We can do it if we fix our minds to it. So that we can compete with other eateries around our enclave,” he stated.

The outgoing Director-General, Osei Assibey Antwi, reflected on his tenure and emphasized the importance of sustaining ongoing programmes. He particularly highlighted the role of the Authority’s metric applications in ensuring seamless operations. "The metric apps have revolutionised the efficiency of our processes, and I urge the incoming leadership to uphold and build upon this legacy for the betterment of the Authority," he stated.

For her part, the Acting Deputy Director-General, Ruth Dela Seddoh, expressed gratitude to the outgoing leadership and commended management and staff for their commitment and support. "I sincerely thank the entire NSA team, especially our outgoing Director-General, for laying a solid foundation. We pledge to build upon it while ensuring a harmonious working relationship devoid of antagonism," she assured.
