NATIONAL SERVICE AUTHORITY RELEASES PIN CODES FOR TRAINED TEACHERS FOR THE 2025/2026 SERVICE YEAR

The National Service Authority (NSA) has today, February 14, 2025 released PIN codes for 9,082 Trained Teachers from 24 Colleges of Education across the country to begin the registration process for the 2025/2026 National Service Year.

It must be noted that a total of 16,159 trained teachers were submitted by the 36 Colleges of Education for upload into the NSA System for National Service.

However, 7,077 Trained Teachers are yet to be uploaded, as their respective institutions have not provided the required cover letters. As a result their details cannot be processed by the Authority.

Furthermore, out of the 9,082 successfully uploaded Trained Teachers, a total of 5,336 students come from institutions with Expired Accreditation, leaving only 3,746 students from institutions with Active Accreditation as recognised by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). This means that out of the 36 Colleges of Education, only 14 institutions currently hold active accreditation with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), whereas 22 institutions have their accreditation expired.

In line with NSA’s commitment to Compliance and Transparency, registrations prospective personnel from institutions with Expired Accreditation will have their registrations put on hold until their accreditation status with GTEC is regularized before they are posted for National Service.

The Authority, therefore, urges affected Colleges of Education to engage the GTEC promptly to renew their accreditation status to facilitate PIN code activation and registration for their students.

A detailed list of the affected Colleges of Education is provided in Appendix A, Colleges of Education with a current accreditation are also outlined in Appendix B for the information of the public.
