The New Juaben Municipal office of the National Service Scheme has organized an orientation programme for personnel posted to various governments and private organisations within the municipality.
The one-day orientation programme which converged over 1500 national service posted within the New Juaben Municipality is an avenue for the personnel to meet with the Management of the NSS at the municipal level to engage and discuss pertinent issues relating to their national service while creating a platform for networking and knowledge sharing.
Speaking at the event, Mr Armstrong Esaah, Director in charge of Corporate Affairs at the National Service Scheme tasked the national service personnel to work hard and make a positive impact at the post so that they can be recommended for permanent employment if the need arises.
“The National Service period serves as a link between school and the world of work thus your experiences should shape and prepare you for the future. We want you to make an impact, learn and become employable after service” he said.
He further used the platform to articulate the operational innovations such as the paperless registration, certificate delivery, NSS portal and market place and other related policies that are aimed at making life easier and comfortable for service personnel. He commended the Hon. Mustapha Ussif, and his management for their vision and leadership that has resorted to this transformation.
He, however, applauded the New Juaben Municipal NSS office for organizing such programme and charged other districts and municipal offices to do same.
Briefing the gathering, Mr Eugene Brempong, the New Juaben Municipal Manager of NSS, expressed his appreciation for the massive attendance and charged them to work hard since there is a scholarship slot for the most hardworking person in the municipality.
He also hinted on a collaboration between his office and the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly to roll out a sanitation campaign and clean up exercise and therefore urged them to be involved when the time is due.
Other dignitaries that graced the occasion were Mr Ike Appau Gyasi, the MCE for New Juaben Municipal and Mr Benjamin Asante Oduro, the NSS Eastern Regional Director.
